Associate Professor Paul Ali


Dr Paul Ali is an Associate Professor in the Law School and a member of the Law School's Centre for Corporate Law and Securities Regulation. Paul has published widely on banking and finance law, corporate governance and institutional investment law, securitisation law, and structured finance law.  Paul's most recent publications include books on credit derivatives (The Credit Derivatives Handbook: Global Perspectives, Innovations and Market Drivers. New York: McGaw-Hill Professional, 2008 (with G. N. Gregoriou)) and synthetic securitisation (Expansion and Diversification in Securitization. The Hague: Kluwer Law International, 2008 (with J. J. de Vries Robbé)), and a chapter on commodity price risk securitization (included in The Handbook of Commodity Investing. Hoboken, NJ: John Wiley & Sons, 2008 (F. J. Fabozzi, R. Füss and D. G. Kaiser)). Paul is a member of the Personal Property Securities Review Consultative Group which is advising the Federal Attorney-General on the Personal Property Securities Bill. Paul has also recently participated in Joint India-IMF and Malaysia-IMF Training Programs, in an IMF project on derivatives in emerging markets, and in a KfW project on financial sector development in emerging markets.
