Why did you choose to undertake a graduate degree in Law?
I am a lawyer and I have always thought that it is fundamental to keep on studying. I have been working in the Commercial Law area and I have realised that it is critical to be updated in this area of law, due to the fact that it is in a permanent path of development.
Why did you choose Melbourne Law School?
On the one hand, the Melbourne Law School is one of the most important Law Schools in Australia and also it is placed within the most 30 important Universities of the world in the Times Higher Education Ranking. On the other hand, Melbourne is an amazing city and I thought it could be a great experience to study there.
Describe your career pathway - what is your current role and how did you get to where you are?
I started my Master of Commercial Law in Melbourne after finishing my LLB and Master of Business Law in Chile. Currently, I am a member of the Litigation area of a Chilean firm.
Describe your experience of studying in the Melbourne Law Masters. What have been the highlights so far?
There was a great variety of subjects within the Master of Commercial Law and I decided to choose mostly the competition law subjects. The professors, either Australians or from abroad, were great and very engaged in this area of law. Also, it was a great opportunity to meet new people from all around the world and to further develop my English skills in writing and speaking.
What are you planning to do when you have completed your degree? Where do you think your degree will take you?
I want to work in the competition law area. Chile is a small economy but open to the world, therefore there is a lot to do in this country. I think that I now have the necessary skills to get involved in issues like collusion, mergers and other anticompetitive conduct, and to apply the knowledge that I have gained in me masters in my country.

On the one hand, the University of Melbourne is an outstanding University and future students will have the opportunity to be involved with wise students and professors from all around the world. On the other hand, there must be considered the experience of living in one of the most liveable cities of the world.
