Interstate students
Around 25% of the students in the Melbourne Law Masters are from interstate. The program's structure, offering over 90% of subjects in intensive, one-week blocks, means it is highly convenient for busy professionals travelling to Melbourne from other parts of Australia.

Accommodation in Melbourne

Course materials
If you live interstate or in country Victoria, your materials will be sent to you by post at the address you have nominated as your preferred mailing address. Please ensure that your mailing address is kept up to date using the online Student Information System (SIS).
Student cards
A 'Student Card Application for Distance Students' form will be sent to you with your enrolment package. To obtain a student card before you attend class in Melbourne, please complete and return this form to Student Administration, The University of Melbourne, Victoria 3010.
You will need a student card to access the University libraries. If you have any queries regarding this process or if you would like an application form sent to you, please contact the Melbourne Law Masters office.
The Law Library
Law Library staff will undertake computer searches and copy documents on your behalf.
- Requests for computer searches, which are free, may be made of the Law Library's Deputy Head (phone 03 8344 6178).
- Requests for photocopies should be directed to the Faculty Services Librarian or the Interlibrary Loans Assistant (phone 03 8344 7313).
- If you need to borrow material from University libraries interstate, you will require a Letter of Indemnity. Please contact the Deputy Head for details.
- If you have use of a firm or court library you may be able to arrange interlibrary loans of University of Melbourne books through that library; normal interlibrary loans charges may be waived for such loans.
