In 2007, the following prizes were offered for subjects in the Melbourne Law Masters:

AMPLA Award
Awarded to the student placed first in either the subject Petroleum Law, Mineral Law, or Resources Joint Ventures.

2007 winner: Jennifer Hart, Master of Laws

BJ Shaw Law Prize
Awarded to a student who has the highest academic score in the subject Corporate Taxation (Shareholders, Debt and Equity) or Corporate Taxation (Companies and Consolidation).

2007 winner: Elizabeth Kong, Master of Laws

David Bruce Memorial Award
Awarded to the student placed first in the subject Financial Sector Regulation.

2007 winner: Spencer Chipperfield, Master of Laws

Davies Collison Cave Prize
Awarded to the student placed first in the subject Patent Law.

2007 winner: Douglas Horton, Master of Intellectual Property Law

Deacons Prize in Construction Contracts
Awarded to the student placed first in the subject Construction Contracts.

2007 winner: Graham Read, Master of Construction Law

Graham Hill Taxation Law Prize
Awarded to a student who has completed two or more subjects from the graduate program in taxation program during the year, and obtained an H1 in at least one subject.

2007 winner: Kerry Brewster, Master of Taxation

Harmers Workplace Lawyers Prize
Awarded to the top ranked student in the subject Bargaining at Work and Industrial Action.

2007 winner: Julian Clarke, Master of Labour Relations Law

Licensing Executives Society Prize
Awarded to the top ranked student in the subject Licensing Law and Technology Transfer.

2007 winner: Jonathan Fenwick, Master of Laws

Phillips Fox Prize
Awarded to the student placed first overall in the subject Advanced Construction Contracts.

2007 winner: John Kehoe

Melbourne University Law School Foundation Prize
Awarded once per year to an undergraduate or postgraduate (including coursework, research and JD) student who makes an outstanding contribution to the life and affairs of Melbourne Law School.
