Associate Dean’s Welcome

The Melbourne Law School is Australia's oldest Law School, with a rich tradition of excellence in learning, teaching and research developed over more than 150 years. We have a deep sense of history and a strong vision for the future. We aim to be one of the finest law schools in the world.

In 2008, the University of Melbourne introduces landmark educational reforms known as the Melbourne Model, creating an outstanding and distinctive Melbourne experience for all students. The Melbourne Law School embraces this shift and in 2008 will become a purely graduate law school.

This exciting change further demonstrates the Law School's commitment to the importance of graduate studies. The Melbourne Law Masters combines the latest legal professional expertise with academic excellence. Our courses, subject selection, teaching faculty and learning resources make us a leader not only in Australia but around the world. Above all, we value the intellectual energy and commitment of our graduate students, every one of whom enhances the Melbourne experience.

I would like to warmly welcome you to this year's Melbourne Law Masters program and encourage you to choose the Melbourne Law School for your graduate study. I know you will find it very rewarding.
